With the lamp, I wanted to showcase the diverse possibilities of vulcanized fiber.

In addition to its many positive properties, such as load-bearing capacity, impact resistance, and durability, vulcanized fiber, being made from cotton cellulose, can be dyed in any color combination.

The material's thickness can also be flexibly adjusted, ranging from 0.1 mm to 1.3 mm. 

 

For the lamp, I chose a 0.3 mm thin, natural vulcanized fiber layer to highlight its translucent properties in interaction with light.
